1- Do Smokers have to pay higher premiums for life insurance than non-smokers?
2- What is the current interest rates paid out on annuities in the USA?
3- When employing staff, should employers have the right to discriminate against smokers?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Smokers do pay more for life insurance, since they have a higher risk of dying during the period covered by a term life policy and a higher risk of dying earlier and thus making fewer premium payments for a whole life policy. The return of an annuity policy varies by the age of the insured and other factors. For an accurate quote, try this site to find the best life insurance

Yes and for the #2 it depends on the company, #3 no because that is against the law

YES. It’s called life insurance for a reason. If you’re putting your life at risk, the insurance companies charge you more to insure your life because if something happens to you, they have to foot some of the cost.

If the employee is taking more cigarette breaks than doing their work, I think employers should have every right to "discriminate". You’re at work to work, it’s not my fault you’re addicted.

While not exactly an answer to your question, in our company, smokers have to pay a $25/month surcharge towards their health insurance.

If it’s a private company, I think they should be able to hire.not hire anyone they want.

Just don’t tell them you smoke.
